Music Obsession: Hop Along

Do you ever listen to your Spotify Discover Weekly playlist? If you aren't familiar, it's a playlist created by an algorithm that matches you with similar songs you listened to throughout the week. Honestly, this playlist is usually absolute garbage for me, but every few weeks I discover a gem.

Hop Along is one of my current music obsessions that came from Discover Weekly, and I can't believe it took me this long to find them.  Lead singer Frances Quinlan's voice is so unbelievably raw. I'm mesmerized; no, I'm envious. I want this much emotion in my singing voice. 

I'm also really into their lyrics. I used to be the kind of person who wanted a story arc to their songs (i.e., Paul Simon). But I love the cryptic, clever lines here. Each time I listen to this song, I feel as though I'm piecing together a puzzle.
